Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice

This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and describes how The Alkimists handles "consumer health data." It is provided to comply with consumer health data laws, including the Washington My Health My Data Act, the Nevada consumer health data law, and similar requirements. If you are a resident of a state with such a law, this notice applies to you.
We designed the Services to give you ingredient information. You are never required to share health information to browse ingredients or products; health-related data is collected only if you choose to create a skin profile or include such details in what you submit.
1. What consumer health data we collect
When you voluntarily create a skin profile or include the information in content you submit, we may collect health-related data such as:
- Skin type (for example, dry, oily, combination, sensitive);
- Skin concerns you select (which may relate to skin conditions);
- Known allergies or sensitivities you describe;
- Life stage you indicate (which may include pregnancy or nursing);
- Fitzpatrick skin tone;
- Inferences we draw from the above to match ingredients and products to you.
We do not collect precise location data, biometric identifiers, or genetic information.
2. How we collect it
We collect this data directly from you when you enter it into your skin profile or submit it in a request, review, or message. We do not buy consumer health data, and we do not collect it from third parties.

- To personalize ingredient analysis and highlight ingredients relevant to your skin;
- To recommend or filter products based on the attributes you provided;
- To provide, maintain, and improve the features you choose to use.
We do not use consumer health data for advertising, and we do not use it to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

5. Who we share it with
We share consumer health data only with service providers and processors that help us operate the Services under contract, and only as needed to provide the features you use:
- Our cloud database and authentication provider (Supabase) and hosting provider (Vercel), which store and serve the data on our behalf;
- AI service providers (including Anthropic) that process the attributes you submit to generate personalized analysis, and that are contractually restricted from using it for their own purposes.
We do not sell consumer health data or share it for targeted advertising.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your consumer health data only while your skin profile or account is active. When you delete your skin profile or account, we delete the associated consumer health data from our active systems within a commercially reasonable period, and from routine backups on our normal backup cycle, except where retention is required by law.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Confirm whether we are collecting, sharing, or selling your consumer health data;
- Access the consumer health data we hold about you;
- Withdraw consent to our collection and use of it;
- Have your consumer health data deleted.
How to exercise your rights
You can edit or delete your skin profile directly in the Services, or submit a request by emailing kongmoongchi@gmail.com. We will verify your identity and respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent with proof of authorization. If we deny your request, you may appeal by contacting us at the same address, and you may also contact your state attorney general.
8. Security
We apply reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect consumer health data and restrict access to those who need it to operate the Services.
